Abstract
A 42-year-old female presented with painless abdominal swelling for the past 2 months.Cutaneous examination revealed a solitary, well-defined, firm, lobulated skin-coloured to erythematous nodule of size 5 × 3 cm on the right lower abdomen [Figure 1A].Histopathological examination revealed a dermal-based spindle-cell tumour arranged in a storiform pattern within a fibrocollagenous and myxoid stroma [Figure 1B and C].On immunohistochemistry, spindle cells were diffusely positive for cluster of differentiation 34, negative for SO × 10, S100, diagnostic of dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans [Figure 1D].Dermoscopy showed a structureless whitishpink background with shiny white streaks and scattered delicate linear vessels (Dermlite DL4, ×10; polarized mode) [Figure 2].e patient subsequently underwent wide local excision of the tumour with adequate surgical margins.
