Prognia gives every student study that comes back before it fades, their exam as a goal by name, notes that turn into flashcards and a space for every cohort. Free for every student to start, in five languages, with data stored in the EU.
Optional. We’ll use it to fill in this page and your booking.

Students study hard. Then the curve takes it.
They cram for the block exam, pass, and lose much of it before the progress test asks again. To fill the gap they collect apps nobody chose for them: shared decks of unknown origin, question banks written for another country’s exam, and chatbots that cite nothing.

One account for the way medicine is learned.
Prognia is four connected apps for medical students and doctors on one account: Ward for study, Suture for notes, Osler for answers with sources and Prognia for cohorts, teaching and calls. It works in any modern browser and in English, Dutch, German, French and Spanish.

Two habits the evidence keeps backing.
Of ten study techniques reviewed by learning scientists, two earned the highest rating: testing yourself and spreading practice over time.¹ In a randomised trial with paediatric and emergency medicine residents, those who were tested on a topic scored 39% on a final test about six months later, against 26% for those who studied the same material again.² A review of 23 studies found that spaced digital education improves health professionals’ knowledge.³ Ward is built on both habits.

A new card that a student keeps knowing, scheduled by Ward’s own SM-2 scheduler.
Their exam, by name.
Students choose their country and Ward knows the exam: the Voortgangstoets, the Physikum and Staatsexamen, the EDN and ECOS, the USMLE, the MCCQE and more. In the week before it, Exam Rescue gathers what matters, and the study coach in Ward Max plans each day up to the date. Ward does not know every exam by name yet. Elsewhere, students start from a European or worldwide baseline and import their own Anki decks for free.

Your teachers’ decks, in every student’s pocket.
Teachers build decks and quizzes in Ward with 22 card and question types, from cloze and image labels to clinical vignettes, and share them in the cohort’s space as an assignment. Students follow a playlist and its updates reach them, or remix their own copy while yours stays as it was. Progress shows only as a group total, and only once three students have finished.
When a student adds your university, the spaces for their year and their courses open by themselves. Each space is a group chat with voice and video calls and a classroom: announcements people confirm, questions with an accepted answer and homework with a deadline. Lectures and exams sit in Rota, a calendar students can subscribe to in Apple, Google or Outlook.
Your school is one of 922 medical schools and 2,288 universities in 152 countries in our directory.

Fair to students, by design.
What your privacy officer and your student representatives will ask, answered plainly.
In English, by video. Tell us about your curriculum, your exams and the cohort you would start with. You leave knowing whether Prognia fits that cohort and what a first block would look like.
02
One cohort or one block first, free.
We set up the cohort’s space with you. Your teachers share their decks there, and students join with free accounts. The pilot costs nothing.
03
Look at it together.
After the block, or about three months, we look at what students used and decide on the next step together.
Does Prognia integrate with our learning platform?
Not today. Prognia works next to Canvas, Brightspace, Moodle or Blackboard: link a Ward deck or a cohort space from your course page.
Can students sign in with their university account?
Not today. Students sign in with their own Prognia account, by email, Apple or Google.
Do students have to pay?
No. The Prognia network is always free, and Ward, Suture and Osler each have a free plan. Pro and Max add more room and the AI study coach; for an individual, Pro starts at $4.99 a month per app. A first pilot with one cohort or block is free; options for a whole cohort after that are something we discuss in the call.
Which exams does Ward know by name?
The Voortgangstoets and BIG registration (Netherlands), Physikum, Staatsexamen and Facharztprüfung (Germany), EDN and ECOS (France), USMLE Step 1, Step 2 CK and Step 3 and COMLEX (United States), MCCQE (Canada), MRCP, MRCS and MRCGP (United Kingdom), the AMC and college exams (Australia) and the Belgian exams. Elsewhere students start from a European or worldwide baseline.

Step 1 of 2
Meetings are in English.
Pick it from our directory, or add it if it’s missing.
Next opens our booking calendar from Cal.com. Nothing loads from Cal.com before you click. How we handle booking data
Yes. Anyone can build decks and quizzes in Ward with 22 card and question types, import Anki decks for free, and share them in a space.
Is there evidence that this works?
The methods are well studied: retrieval practice and spaced repetition have strong evidence, including in medical education (sources above). Prognia itself has not been evaluated in a published study yet.
Where is student data stored?
In the EU: Prognia’s database, sign-in and file storage run in Frankfurt, Germany. AI features send the text of a request to the AI model providers listed in our privacy policy to generate an answer.
Is the content in our language?
The apps work in English, Dutch, German, French and Spanish. Much medical source material, such as international guidelines, is in English, and decks are in the language their author wrote them in.
Why are the meetings in English?
Our meetings are held in English. Prognia itself works in English, Dutch, German, French and Spanish.
