Implant Stability and Crestal Bone Levels of Dental Implants with and without Injectable Platelet Rich Fibrin (i-PRF) - A Comparative Study
By Kasukurthi K, Malgikar S, Gooty JR and 3 others.
Abstract
Background
Restoring teeth with implants has become the treatment of choice to reduce the adverse effects of tooth loss. Injectable platelet-rich fibrin (i-PRF), an autologous platelet concentrate rich in growth factors, has recently gained attention for its potential to enhance osseointegration, accelerate healing and reduce crestal bone loss around dental implants.
Materials and methods
Twenty patients were randomised into Group I (Test) treated with i-PRF-coated implants and Group II (Control) without i-PRF coating. Implant stability quotient (ISQ) values and crestal bone evaluation were obtained at baseline and three months in both groups.
