Abstract
Objective
Infectious arterial complications involving the kidney transplant (KT) vasculature are rare but life-threatening and frequently result in KT loss. The lack of evidence-based guidance for vascular management strategies underscores the need for systematic synthesis to inform clinical decision-making.
Methods
A systematic search was performed from database inception through August 22, 2025, for reports of culture-proven infectious vascular complications-including arterial rupture, detachment, pseudoaneurysm, aneurysm, thrombosis, or stenosis-involving the transplant renal artery, iliac vessels, or arterial anastomosis in KT recipients. Eligible studies reported vascular management strategies. Due to methodological heterogeneity, findings were synthesized narratively using proportion-based comparisons.
