Suspected Gluteal Epithelioid Sarcoma Complicated by Secondary Infection and Sciatic Neuropathy: A Case Report
By Nassar B, Nayfeh RO, Sheikhasan E and 2 others.
Abstract
Secondary infection can coexist with and obscure an underlying soft-tissue sarcoma. A deep mass that persists or progresses despite drainage and appropriate antibiotics, especially with progressive neurological deficit, warrants image-guided core biopsy and sarcoma-center referral before further surgery.
