Abstract
Background/objectives
The potential role of probiotics in the prevention and management of atopic dermatitis (AD) has received increasing attention. This study aimed to investigate factors associated with parent-reported AD in children aged 1-4 years in Serbia and to characterize patterns of probiotic use and parental attitudes toward probiotics.
Methods
A nationwide cross-sectional online survey was conducted among parents of 1153 children aged 1-4 years in Serbia. Associations between AD and demographic, perinatal, feeding, and probiotic-related characteristics were assessed using multivariable logistic regression. Parental attitudes toward probiotics were evaluated using a three-item Likert-scale instrument, and patterns of probiotic use were analyzed among children with AD.
