Filamin A Promotes Malignant Progression and Poor Prognosis in Glioma by Regulating EMT-Related Signaling Pathways
By Yang Y, Li J, Zhang S and 5 others.
Abstract
Background
Filamin A (FLNA), a scaffolding protein extensively expressed in various tumor cells, is involved in regulating multiple cellular functions.
Objective
This study aimed to investigate the role of FLNA in the occurrence, development, and prognosis of glioma.
Materials and methods
Firstly, data from public databases including The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), Chinese Glioma Genome Atlas (CGGA), and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) were utilized to analyze FLNA expression in glioma, evaluate the impact of differential FLNA expression on the prognosis of glioma patients, and validate the findings using tissue samples from our institution. Subsequently, cell experiments were conducted to confirm the effect of FLNA on the malignant phenotype of glioma cells. Finally, differential gene expression analysis and Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA) were performed to explore the association between FLNA and downstream signal transduction pathways.
