Abstract
Objective
This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) and prognosis in patients with oesophageal cancer undergoing radiotherapy, and to evaluate the incremental prognostic value of combining SII with clinical TNM stage.
Method
A retrospective analysis was performed on 159 patients with locally advanced oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma who received radiotherapy. The optimal cut-off value for pre-radiotherapy SII was determined using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis, and patients were stratified into low- and high-SII groups accordingly. Univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses were employed to identify independent prognostic factors. The predictive performance of SII alone, TNM stage alone, and their combination was compared. Primary endpoints were overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS).
