By Fujisaki MA, Moraes VY, Pires FA and 2 others.
Abstract
Objective
To establish normative values for the two-point discrimination test in the Brazilian population.
Methods
The present cross-sectional study was conducted in an adult population without neurological conditions affecting the hands. Discrimination was assessed on the fingertip pulp, from the thumb to the little finger, using a graded metal two-point discriminator with fixed tips. Normality was determined using the Von Frey test, with an esthesiometer consisting of calibrated nylon monofilaments.
