Effect of cryotherapy on chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy in patients with breast cancer treated with taxanes: a systematic review using the GRADE system
By Gravesen RE, Lendorf ME, Tankisi H and 1 others.
Abstract
Background
The aim of this systematic review is to assess the evidence of the effect of cryotherapy on the development of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) in patients with breast cancer in neoadjuvant or adjuvant chemotherapy.
Method
Studies investigating the effect of cryotherapy as a preventive intervention for CIPN in patients with breast cancer treated with taxanes were eligible for inclusion. Non-English and non-German publications and studies inaccessible due to paywall restrictions were excluded. A systematic literature search was conducted in PubMed and Embase on 29 May 2026. The certainty of evidence was assessed using the GRADE method.
