Anti-Aging Efficacy of a Home-use red and Infrared Light-Emitting Diode Mask and a Cream: Ex Vivo and Clinical Evaluations in Women With Mature Skin
By Bellanger A, Guéré C, Boisnic S and 1 others.
Abstract
Background
Photobiomodulation has gained considerable attention for its potential in various dermatological applications. We assessed the anti-aging effects of a home-use face-fit mask combining 630 and 850 nm light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and an anti-aging cream in ex vivo and prospective exploratory clinical studies. Both products are commercially available.
Methods
Skin samples from six women aged 39─55 years were either left untreated or received topical treatments for 7 days: LED irradiation (7-minute sessions) or cream (2 mg/cm2), or both. In the clinical study, women aged 49─65 years (n = 50) applied the cream daily to the face and neck for 56 days and used the mask 3─4 times per week.
