Assessment of cleaning and disinfection of Intensive Care Unit beds: quality management with Lean

Abstract
Objective
to analyze, using Lean Healthcare tools, the terminal hygiene process in Intensive Care Unit beds and to propose improvements for its standardization.
Method
a cross-sectional study was conducted at a university hospital in Rio de Janeiro between September 2023 and February 2024, observing ten terminal hygiene processes performed by five professionals. VSM, CRT Diagram, GUT Matrix, Prioritization Matrix, and 5W2H tools were used. Analysis considered scope, technical adherence, execution time, surface completeness, and the presence of fluorescent residues.
