Cultural adaptation of the Brazilian version of the New Scale of Sexual Satisfaction (NSSS-BR) for sexuality and HIV

Abstract
Objective
To translate and cross-culturally adapt the New Scale of Sexual Satisfaction (NSSS-BR) into Brazilian Portuguese for people living with HIV (PLHIV).
Methods
This was a five-stage methodological study: translation, expert review, back-translation, semantic analysis, and pre-testing. The sample included 10 raters, 43 PLHIV in the test, and 40 in the pretest, conducted between November and December 2023 at a nursing school and a specialized HIV/AIDS service in São Paulo. Inclusion criteria varied by stage and included clinical experience, scientific publications, language proficiency, legal age, and ongoing clinical care. Data were collected via REDCap® and analyzed using SPSS®.
