By Gajardo-Burgos R, Jaque de la Barra T, Ramírez-Campillo R and 2 others.
Abstract
Objective
To estimate the reliability and criterion validity of knee and ankle muscle strength measured using portable dynamometers.
Design
Systematic review with meta-analysis and evidence gap map.
Literature search
Systematic search of MEDLINE, Embase, CINAHL, SPORTDiscus, and Web of Science from inception to April 2025.
Study selection criteria
We included studies that evaluated reliability or criterion validity of portable dynamometers for measuring knee extensor/flexor or ankle dorsiflexor/plantarflexor/invertor/evertor isometric strength in uninjured people or people with a lower-limb musculoskeletal condition.
