Abstract
Wates Village, Undaan District, Kudus Regency, is a rural area where most residents work in agriculture and informal employment. Nutritional problems among children in the area are associated with the implementation of balanced diets, while mothers, as the primary managers of childcare and family food needs, also face various demands that may affect their psychological well-being. This community service program aimed to improve emotional regulation, nutrition literacy, and skills in utilizing local food resources among members of the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) organization in Wates Village. The program employed a community-based participatory approach through several stages, including needs assessment and preparation, socialization, emotional regulation training, nutrition education and practice, application of appropriate food-processing technology, and follow-up assistance and evaluation. The participants consisted of 20 PKK members from Wates Village. Program effectiveness was evaluated by comparing pre-test and post-test scores, observing participant involvement, and assessing practical skills. The results showed an increase in the mean emotional regulation score from 3.55 to 4.65, representing an increase of 1.10 points. Knowledge of balanced nutrition also increased from 15.55 to 17.25, representing an increase of 1.70 points. All participants were actively involved in food-processing practices, including the production of purple sweet potato yogurt and cookies made from Modified Cassava Flour (MOCAF). In addition, the Ibu Berdaya community was established as a platform for program sustainability. These findings indicate that integrating psychological support, nutrition literacy, local food utilization, and community strengthening can enhance mothers’ capacity to support family well-being and food security.
