Adherence to Antiemetic Prophylaxis Guidelines for Chemotherapy-Induced Nausea and Vomiting in Pediatric Oncology: A Scoping Review Protocol
By Wei LIU and Canyu Yang.
Abstract
This scoping review aims to systematically map and synthesize the available evidence on adherence to antiemetic prophylaxis guidelines for chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) in pediatric oncology. Despite the availability of risk-stratified guidelines from multiple professional organizations (POGO, ASCO, MASCC/ESMO, CCLG), adherence remains suboptimal, and the barriers to guideline-concordant care have not been systematically characterized. This review will: 1. Map the characteristics and distribution of studies examining guideline adherence in pediatric CINV prophylaxis 2. Describe reported adherence rates and clarify the heterogeneity of operational definitions 3. Identify reported independent factors associated with non-adherence 4. Summarize multilevel barriers according to the evidence basis 5. Describe intervention strategies and their reported effects 6. Identify key research gaps The review follows the Arksey and O'Malley framework and will be reported according to PRISMA-ScR (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews) guidelines.
