Abstract
Thrombocytopenic purpuras are a group of hereditary and acquired hemostatic disorders resulting from a platelet count below the normal range. Thrombocytopenic purpuras are characterized by a tendency to develop petechiae and hematomas following minor injuries, bleeding of varying severity (nasal, gastrointestinal, and uterine), and anemia. Currently, optical aggregometry (OA) is a conventional method used for the diagnosis of ITP; however, it does not allow the identification of specific platelet defects. According to T. Quiroga (Hematology, 2012), the cause of bleeding remains unidentified in 49–71% of patients with microcirculatory-type hemorrhagic syndrome when platelet morphological examination and coagulation testing are performed. This necessitates the application of additional diagnostic methods.
