Abstract
Genetic engineering has transformed the way we live today, allowing us to eradicate genetic diseases, improve our agriculture, and help save the planet. These incredible tools, while awe-inspiring, also present very daunting moral concerns. This essay explores a possible approach to understanding the moral, social and environmental implications of genetic engineering. It focuses on how we can develop systems that include some of our key moral values-autonomy, justice, beneficence, and non-maleficence. The research investigates several methods of proactively identifying potential problems, evaluating environmental risks, and incorporating diverse inputs in decision-making processes. It blends the study of ethical principles with scientific research and public policy. This article presents a framework for addressing the ethical issues of genome engineering, a framework that will be important to apply for the responsible and equitable use of innovations for the benefit of all.
