Abstract
Background
Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is a major cause of cervical pathology, yet its influence on systemic hormonal regulation remains poorly understood. This study evaluated serum estradiol, progesterone, and thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) levels in women with HPV-associated cervical cytological abnormalities.
Methods
A comparative cross-sectional study was conducted among 126 women aged 18–45 years, grouped into HPV-positive (n=42), cervicitis (n=42), and healthy controls (n=42). Blood samples were collected at defined menstrual phases. Serum estradiol, progesterone, and TSH levels were measured using ELISA. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA and Tukey’s post hoc test, with p<0.05 considered statistically significant.
