Abstract
This scoping review, titled “Post-Warm-Up Waiting Periods and Readiness-Maintenance Strategies in Athletes: A Scoping Review of Physiological and Performance Outcomes,” maps original research involving athletes participating in organized sport. It examines waiting periods after an initial warm-up and before competition or substitute entry, including waiting durations, active and passive readiness-maintenance strategies, and physiological, perceived-readiness, and performance outcomes. Studies examining only halftime interventions are excluded. The review also identifies whether physiological responses and performance were assessed in the same athletes and testing sessions. Methods follow JBI guidance, with reporting guided by PRISMA-ScR. This registration is retrospective: literature searching, study selection, data charting, and preliminary synthesis were undertaken before registration.
