Abstract
Introduction
Physical activity levels during childhood may influence the development of physical capacities associated with sports performance. However, studies investigating the relationship between habitual physical activity and the detection of sports talent through standardized tests in students are still limited.
Objective
To compare children classified as active and less active in a public school in Porto Alegre regarding their performance in the PROESP-BR test battery, with emphasis on physical capacities related to football, as well as to analyze the association between physical activity level and indicators used for sports talent detection.
