Abstract
Introduction
Diabetic foot is one of the most serious complications of diabetes mellitus, as it is the leading cause of non-traumatic lower limb amputation. Heberprot-P® is a recombinant human epidermal growth factor used to promote the healing of diabetic foot ulcers.
Objective
To evaluate the effectiveness of Heberprot-P® in the treatment of ischemic diabetic foot in patients at the Specialty Polyclinic of the “Dr. Antonio Luaces Iraola” Provincial General Teaching Hospital in Ciego de Ávila.
Methods
A cross-sectional, analytical, and correlational study was conducted on 35 patients diagnosed with ischemic diabetic foot, treated between February 2025 and January 2026. Demographic and clinical variables, administered doses, and surgical procedures were analyzed. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used (Student’s t-test and Mann-Whitney U test).
