Abstract
Objective
To analyze the challenges and perspectives of hospital biosafety, emphasizing the practical application of standards, infrastructure, microbial resistance, and the influence of organizational culture.
Methods
A integrative review of recent literature on hospital biosafety was conducted, considering scientific articles and official documents addressing barriers and strategies for the implementation of safety practices.
Results
Obstacles such as insufficient infrastructure, lack of continuous training, and increased antimicrobial resistance in hospital settings were identified. The analysis highlights the importance of modernizing infrastructure, investing in innovative technologies, and providing ongoing professional training as essential measures for preventing healthcare-associated infections. Additionally, the central role of organizational culture in strengthening safety practices is emphasized, as well as the need for antimicrobial stewardship programs, improvements in ventilation and decontamination systems, and effective public policies.
