Co-designing Integrated HIV, Mental Health and Gender-Based Violence Services: A Scoping Review of Participatory Approaches in Low- and Middle-Income Countries
By Uduak Akai, Moses Dooyum Tingir, Tseva Joshua V and 1 others.
Abstract
Background
HIV care, mental health support and gender-based violence support services are often provided separately. People needing several services may have to repeat sharing private information, travel between providers of services, or arrange referrals without help. Involving service users in planning may help address these difficulties, although their involvement and the links between services vary.
Objective
To examine how participatory approaches have helped develop HIV services linked with mental health and gender-based violence support services in low- and middle-income countries, and what the reports show about service design, delivery and outcomes.
