Abstract
This scoping review aims to identify and map the clinical, physiological, organisational and patient safety criteria used to assess readiness for discharge from intensive care units (ICUs) to conventional hospital wards. The review will examine existing discharge assessment practices, decision-support tools, multidisciplinary approaches and factors associated with safe ICU-to-ward transitions. It will also identify gaps in the available evidence to inform future research and clinical practice.
