Abstract
Introduction
Surgical treatment of breast cancer can result in kinetic-functional complications, including neuromuscular injuries, pain, lymphedema, reduced shoulder range of motion, and impaired upper limb function. Such changes directly affect quality of life and functional independence in the late postoperative period, highlighting the importance of continuous monitoring of clinical outcomes.
Objective
To assess upper limb functionality in women in the late postoperative period following breast cancer surgery. Methodology: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 25 women receiving care from specialized centers for women's health in three municipalities in the South of, Brazil. Data collection comprised a general information questionnaire, application of the Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand (DASH) instrument, and measurement of shoulder range of motion using goniometry.
