Abstract
Introduction
Transgender women are more vulnerable to sexually transmitted infections, especially the Human Immunodeficiency Virus. In this context, an effective and evidence-based prevention strategy is Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis.
Objective
To analyze the scientific evidence on the use of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis by transgender women.
Methods
This is an Integrative Review, using a methodological framework, registered in Figshare, and with a guiding question based on the PICo strategy. The search for studies was carried out in the following information sources: CINAHL, LILACS, PubMed, SCOPUS and Web of Science, using controlled descriptors and keywords. The Classification of Levels of Evidence and three instruments for assessing methodological quality were used.
