Abstract
Introduction
Deviated nasal septum (DNS) is an important anatomic variation of the septum that has clinical implications. There are studies showing a statistically significant association between the presence of rhinosinusitis and DNS. This study was planned to find the prevalence of rhinosinusitis among the patients having deviated nasal septum on CT imaging.
Methods
This cross-sectional, descriptive study was conducted at Shree Birendra Hospital over the course of one year from after getting approval from Institutional Review Committee. Morphometric evaluation of DNS and rhinosinusitis occurrence was conducted using computed tomography scans examined by one radiologist with the Terarecon DICOM viewer. The study also examined the relationship between DNS and sinonasal conditions.
