Abstract
Labor is a complex physiological process involving physical and emotional changes that may influence a woman's childbirth experience. In this context, non-pharmacological methods stand out as strategies for pain management, comfort, and humanized care.
Objective
To analyze nursing practice in the use of non-pharmacological methods and their effects during labor.
Method
An integrative literature review with a qualitative and descriptive approach was conducted using the LILACS, BDENF, and MEDLINE databases, including studies published between 2020 and 2026. After applying the eligibility criteria, five studies comprised the final sample.
Results
The main methods identified were massage, warm baths, ambulation, breathing exercises, position changes, and the use of a birthing ball, associated with pain relief, comfort, relaxation, and reduced anxiety. Nursing practice was characterized by guidance, continuous support, and individualized implementation of these strategies.
