Abstract
Hemorrhagic stroke is one of the leading causes of functional disability among older adults, significantly impairing their autonomy, mobility, and quality of life. In this context, early mobilization has been identified as an important physiotherapeutic strategy to minimize the effects of prolonged immobility and promote functional recovery. This study aims to analyze the impact of early mobilization on the rehabilitation of older patients with hemorrhagic stroke, considering its functional, motor, and preventive benefits. This is a qualitative study conducted through a narrative literature review, encompassing scientific publications from 2020 to 2025 retrieved from the SciELO and VHL/LILACS databases. Studies addressing the role of physiotherapy in inpatient neurological rehabilitation, with an emphasis on the early mobilization of patients affected by stroke, will be selected. The findings are expected to demonstrate the contribution of early mobilization to functional recovery, improved mobility, stimulation of neuroplasticity, reduction of secondary complications resulting from prolonged immobility, and promotion of patients' functional autonomy. Furthermore, this study is expected to identify gaps in the literature regarding the standardization of intervention protocols and the optimal timing for initiating early mobilization, thereby contributing to future research and strengthening evidence-based physiotherapy practice.
