Lung Cancer: Epidemiology, Risk Factors, Diagnosis, and Treatment An Analytical Reference Study
By Abdulmonam Albhloul Ali Mansor.
Abstract
Lung cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer and the leading cause of cancer death worldwide. This paper reviews the current epidemiological situation, risk factors, histological classification, early detection strategies, and recent therapeutic advances, with a focus on targeted therapy and immunotherapy. It concludes that tobacco control, early screening with low-dose computed tomography, and personalized treatment guided by molecular testing are the most important pillars for reducing the disease burden.
