Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by elevated blood glucose levels due to impaired insulin secretion or function. This condition requires proper dietary management, including the selection of healthy snacks. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of snacks made from maja fruit (Aegle marmelos) in lowering blood sugar levels. Maja fruit is known to contain flavonoids, tannins, and alkaloids. This study used male white rats (Rattus norvegicus) as test animals. Blood sugar levels were measured before and after treatment to determine the effect of snack consumption on blood sugar reduction. The results obtained indicate that the administration of snacks made from maja fruit can help lower blood glucose levels. Therefore, maja fruit-based snack innovations have the potential to be healthy snacks that are not only nutritious but also beneficial for people with diabetes mellitus.
