Abstract
Background
The increasing use of oral antineoplastic therapies in oncohematology has significantly changed traditional care models, shifting treatment management to patients in the home setting. Low medication adherence is associated with reduced clinical effectiveness, increased toxicity, and poorer health outcomes. In this context, nurses play a key role in patient education, adherence monitoring, and ongoing support. AIM: To describe how oral antineoplastic therapies are managed in Italian hematology centers, focusing on service organization, healthcare professionals’ involvement, and the use of tools for monitoring medication adherence.
