By Guluzade U., Aliyeva H. and Bayramova R..
Abstract
The widespread prevalence of herpesvirus infections among women, their prolonged latency, and the diversity of clinical manifestations make them a significant medical and epidemiological concern. This article summarizes current information on 8 types of human herpesviruses, their effects on the female reproductive system, and the increased risk of gestational complications. It also examines epidemiological indicators, including detection rates and seropositivity, based on data from studies conducted between 2020 and 2026. The analysis makes it possible to assess global and regional patterns of herpesvirus circulation among female population and provides a basis for preventive strategies to address pregnancy-related complications.
