Improving the methodology for developing general and specific endurance in young athletes during track and field training
By Daler Ziyodullayev.
Abstract
The development of general and specific endurance is an essential component of the long-term preparation of young track and field athletes. This article examines training approaches aimed at improving endurance through the combination of continuous running, interval exercises, repeated running, and event-specific conditioning. Particular attention is given to the relationship between training intensity, exercise duration, recovery intervals, and individual differences in physical development. Drawing on relevant scientific literature, the article identifies methodological principles for structuring endurance training while maintaining appropriate progression and recovery. The analysis highlights the importance of adapting training programmes to athletes’ developmental characteristics, performance levels, and event specialisation. The findings provide a theoretical basis for improving endurance-training practices in youth track and field.
