What Is a Whole Person? Toward an Ontological and Computational Definition for Whole-Person Modeling
By LEI CHE.
Abstract
Background
Whole-person health, biopsychosocial medicine, and human digital twin research increasingly recognize the multidimensional and dynamic nature of human beings. However, important distinctions remain between the actual person, the scope of computational representations, and the scientific validity of conclusions drawn from those representations.
Objective
This paper examines the ontological meaning of the whole person and proposes a computational framework for evaluating claims made by whole-person models.
