Abstract
Background: Stroke is an acute cerebrovascular event resulting from impaired cerebral blood flow or intracranial haemorrhage, leading to neurological deficits that commonly affect balance, gait, mobility, and functional independence. The subacute phase is an important period for rehabilitation and motor recovery. Mirror therapy is a simple, cost-effective intervention that provides visual feedback to facilitate motor recovery. However, evidence regarding its effectiveness specifically in individuals with subacute stroke remains limited. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of mirror therapy on balance and gait velocity and compare mirror therapy combined with conventional physiotherapy with conventional physiotherapy alone.
