The significance of the nadir point in the early detection of weight regain after bariatric surgery

Abstract
One of the challenges in assessing the long-term outcomes of bariatric surgery is the lack of a universal approach to defining weight regain. Using only current body weight or body mass index (BMI) does not always allow an objective assessment of the loss of previously achieved results. In this context, recording the minimum postoperative body weight—the nadir point—has important practical value.
