Abstract
Introduction. We are managing the editorial process of a manuscript entitled “Spatio-temporal trend in mortality from ischemic heart disease in Italy between 1995 and 2019”. The manuscript reports a study on time trends in mortality rates from the disease by sex, age, calendar period, birth cohort, and province of residence. Here, we present a subset of supplementary data which was withdrawn from the revised manuscript, for reasons of brevity, in response to a reviewer feedback. Methods. Death certification records were obtained from the Italian National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT). Age-period-cohort models were built to estimate the adjusted mortality rate ratios by calendar period and birth cohort. Bayesian space-time models were fitted to evaluate the spatio-temporal changes in mortality from the disease. Results. The data presented here provide a detailed analysis at the regional and provincial level, primarily intended for an Italian readership. Conclusion. The data presented here integrate our manuscript and reinforces the study’s conclusions.
