Abstract
Implication statement In a healthcare system increasingly burdened by non-communicable diseases, there is an onus on the medical profession to educate patients on healthy eating and lifestyle changes. To provide future physicians with the knowledge and skills required for clinical care, educational programs on nutrition and lifestyle changes are needed. We explored learner and facilitator experiences in a culinary medicine program for undergraduate medical students using a mixed-methods approach. Qualitative and quantitative data indicated improvements in learners’ confidence and attitudes. Lessons learned from our experience will be valuable for educators who are interested in integrating culinary medicine education into medical education curriculum.
