Abstract
Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem whose prevention begins during pregnancy. The oral health of pregnant women is a crucial factor because oral infections can increase the risk of premature birth and low birth weight (LBW), which are risk factors for stunting. However, pregnant women's knowledge regarding the relationship between dental health and stunting is still low. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of developing dental health animation videos in increasing the knowledge of pregnant women as an effort to prevent stunting. This study used a Quasi-Experimental design with a pre-test and post-test control group design. The sample consisted of 60 pregnant women in the Sukajadi Health Center area, Bandung City, divided into an intervention group (receiving animated video) and a control group (receiving a leaflet). Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test to compare knowledge before and after intervention, and the Mann-Whitney test to compare the two groups. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge in the intervention group after watching the animated video, with the average score increasing from 7.45 to 14.38 ( -value = 0.000). The Mann-Whitney test results showed a significant difference in knowledge between the intervention group (average 14.38) and the control group (average 7.25) with a -value = 0.000. In conclusion, animated video media proved to be significantly more effective than leaflet media in increasing pregnant women's knowledge of dental and oral health for stunting prevention.
