EMERGANEST and the future of simulation-based medical education in resource-limited settings
By Muhammad Arslan Zahid and Huma Nasir.
Abstract
The pace of medical education has accelerated significantly over the past decade, yet a dis-connect remains between theoretical learning and hands-on practical training, particularly in non-teaching and low-resource environments. While postgraduate medical education in many developed nations has normalized simulation-based learning and hands-on procedural workshops, such opportunities remain scarce in many regions, including parts of Pakistan. This educational gap inspired the formation of the EMERGANEST Society of Medical Education.
