Abstract
Lobular capillary haemangioma, or pyogenic granuloma, is a rapidly growing benign vascular lesion that tends to bleed and is rare in the nasal cavity. The study therefore aimed to analyse the clinical, imaging, histopathological and therapeutic features of intranasal lobular capillary haemangioma in an adolescent with recurrent epistaxis, based on a published case report and recent literature. A critical analysis of a case report selected with a protocol adapted from PRISMA was conducted and contrasted with the literature. The 16-year-old patient had recurrent unilateral epistaxis and a friable violaceous mass in the right nasal cavity, magnetic resonance imaging showed a well-defined lesion without bone invasion, and endoscopic resection with histopathological confirmation was performed, without recurrence. It was concluded that this entity should be included in the differential diagnosis of recurrent unilateral epistaxis.
