Abstract
Background: Endometrial cancer (EC) is a heterogeneous malignancy for which biomarker evidence is distributed across studies using different assays, endpoints, and patient populations. Objectives: To compile a literature-curated knowledge base of reported EC biomarkers that supports evidence navigation and research on diagnostic, prognostic, and treatment-related biomarkers. Methods: PubMed was searched with a MeSH-based query restricted to publications dated from January 1, 1975, to July 1, 2023, and eligible studies were manually curated.Curated records were annotated with external bioinformatics and genomic resources. The database was implemented with MySQL and a Python-based (Flask) web framework. Results: Audit of the v1.0 master basic table identified 1,103 database records associated with 635 distinct PMIDs.After trimming leading and trailing whitespace, 617 distinct biomarker-name strings were identified; case-insensitive counting yielded 603 strings.Synonyms were not merged.Application labels comprised 382 diagnostic, 579 prognostic, and 139 treatment-related records, with three records carrying missing or invalid application labels. The resource preserves study-specific cutoffs and effect directions rather than harmonizing or pooling them.Downloaded from https://spj.science.orgon October 27, 2026 Conclusion: ECbiomarker is a literature-curated, disease-specific repository of EC biomarker records. This resource supports evidence navigation and biomarker research in endometrial cancer.
