Use of vodcast in cardiopulmonary resuscitation teaching among medical students
By Saulo Rodrigues de Oliveira Leite, Aline Bruna Martins Vaz, Denise da Silveira Lemos and 2 others.
Abstract
Objective
To evaluate the immediate effect of vodcasts (video-on-demand) on medical students' cognitive performance in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and on their motivation, using a quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test design.
Methods
A quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test study was conducted with 14 third-year medical students. Students watched a vodcast on CPR divided into three chapters, and cognitive performance was assessed using multiple-choice questions before and after the intervention. Motivation was measured using the validated Brazilian version of the Instructional Materials Motivation Survey (IMMS-BRV), which assesses four dimensions: interest, confidence, attention, and expectation. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee.
