Abstract
Passing movement, defined as an accurate pass followed by off-the-ball movement, is a basic technical requirement in futsal, yet most members of the futsal extracurricular program at MTs BI Islami had not mastered it. A preliminary observation showed inaccurate passes, slow off-the-ball movement, and poor coordination; of 20 participants, 14 were rated low in passing movement. This study aimed to determine the effect of rondo training on the passing movement ability of male futsal extracurricular participants at MTs BI Islami. A quantitative pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design was used. The sample comprised 20 male students selected through purposive sampling from a population of 26. The treatment was a 12-session training program built around rondo. Passing movement was measured with a rondo passing test (2 minutes, 4 vs 1, maximum two touches, moving after passing), scored as pass accuracy minus error percentage. Data were analyzed in IBM SPSS Statistics 32 with descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk test, and the paired-sample t-test. The mean score rose from 62.05 (SD = 12.446) at pretest to 80.30 (SD = 7.630) at posttest, a mean difference of 18.25 points. The data were normally distributed (Shapiro-Wilk p = 0.141 and 0.270), and the paired t-test showed a significant difference (t(19) = −12.941, p < 0.001). The rondo-based program significantly improved passing movement. Because there was no control group and the program also contained plyometric and passing drills, the result should be read as improvement associated with the program, not as the isolated effect of rondo.
