Abstract
Background
Major abdominal surgery is associated with considerable physiological stress and may lead to postoperative complications, delayed functional recovery, prolonged hospitalization, and increased healthcare burden. Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) pathways aim to accelerate recovery through evidence-based perioperative interventions; however, integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into nursing care may further support individualized risk assessment, timely decision-making, continuous monitoring, and early identification of postoperative deterioration.
Aim
This study aimed to evaluate the impact of an AI-Supported enhanced recovery nursing program on postoperative recovery, complications, and length of hospital stay among patients undergoing major abdominal surgery.
