Cardiovascular and serious bleeding outcomes with pirfenidone and nintedanib in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis: a systematic review and meta-analysis of placebo-controlled randomized trials

Ongoing systematic review of placebo-controlled randomized trials in adults with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis assessing pirfenidone and nintedanib separately for unique-patient myocardial infarction, cardiovascular death and investigator-defined serious bleeding. Searches and provisional extraction/analyses have already begun. Final reconciliation, verified endpoint extraction, outcome-specific RoB 2, GRADE and final synthesis remain incomplete. This registration records the current protocol and prior work transparently; it is not prospective preregistration. Intended OSF submission date: 14 October 2026.
