The purpose of this article is to analyze the compatibility of euthanasia, as the right to die, and criminal liability for assisting suicide , as the prohibition of the right to die. The article analyzes the regulation and prevalence of euthanasia around the world, the possibility of its establishment in Lithuania, and the compliance of this institution with fundamental constitutional principles, ethics, and religion. It also focuses on the crime of assisting suicide, revealing its legal nature, analyzing its specific features, problems of application, and relationship with institution of euthanasia.
