Résumé
Purpose
To explore how adults living with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and family members described self-care within everyday family life at two community health centers in Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, Indonesia, using the Self-Care of Chronic Illness (SCCI) framework as a sensitizing lens. Patients and methods: A qualitative descriptive study was conducted at two community health centers in Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, Indonesia. Ten adults living with T2DM and five family members were purposively recruited and participated in individual semistructured interviews. Data were analyzed using reflexive thematic analysis combining deductive attention to SCCI concepts with inductive coding. Patient and family accounts were analyzed as separate, complementary perspectives rather than as matched patient-family dyads.
